READ THIS WEEK'S JOURNAL PRESS EDITORIAL PAGE

Journal Press editorial page this week contains two editorials worth discussing.
One is from Chet Wolgamot and the other is from the newspaper editor, Ericka Schmidt-Russell. Pick one up.

51 comments:

  1. Poor Bob Ewbank...

...people are paying attention to what he and his ilk are doing...

    ...people he cannot bully...

    ...how sad!

Vera, Jeff and Rick are the exception and not the rule in this county, Bob!

The rest of us have real jobs, ethics and morals...

...we don't need to rely on your good charity to make it through each pay period!

What will you and Gary do?

  2. Please, please, please, let Jeff and Rick make total asses of themselves and run as independent candidates in the general election after their loss in the primary. Let them leave their indelible mark on Dearborn County History, as being two of the thickest, most obtuse tools ever to be booted from office.

  3. Still waiting on an editorial from the Bright Beacon.

Maybe they could do a half-page hit piece on the spelling of some bloggers?

Or belittle those folks who "actually" show up for public meetings and causes?

One thing you can bet, it will not be anything the least bit negative concerning UCB Bank, Ewbank, Maxwell and the rest, will it, Liz?

    Groveling.

  4. Jeff supports those who dictate in backrooms, but discounts those who show up out front, in public, wish to debate.

Mr. Wolgamot's editorial is both on point and dead center as to his reading of Jeff Hughes.

I'm beginning to think an education would be wasted on Mr. Hughes.

  5. Erika Schmidt Russell is doing her job and she gets it.

    Liz, on the other hand...

    ReplyDelete
  6. Rumor has it that Ewbank and Morris are on the look out for a couple of dead hookers and those willing to plant them in the beds of those running against their ethical spawn.

  7. I'm thinking of renewing my subscription to the Journal and Register.

Oblique and side-stepping references to corruption do not make a real newspaper.

A load of crap, is a load of crap.

No matter how many shysters have air fresheners fashionly fastened around their necks.

  8. Calling Chuck Andres!!!!!

John Maxwell still refuses to connect to your sewers!!!!!

Inform John Maxwell that septic systems simply do not work!!!!!

We all await your letter to the editor!!!!!

Unless you are feeling dirty and ashamed!!!!!

  9. Bill Ullrich

    Dan Lansing

    Dennis Kraus

    Tom Cheek

Four "MEN" who would not sell their souls or their fellow citizens' souls to enrich a few of this County's baser and despicable inhabitants!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Maynard and Liz refused to join in this lot.

What do they have in common?

What do they have in common?

    What a question that is!

  11. "Bill Ullrich

    Dan Lansing

    Dennis Kraus

    Tom Cheek"

Four men who simply understand corruption when they see it.

Just like the rest of us honest, God loving folks.

  12. 3 of those "men" voted for Vieste and drained thousands of dollars out of the county.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Poor "tax Dollar Fairy" Fehrman, he has to subvert his religious background and calling to serve his employer Maxwell.

Since he has succumbed to Maxwell and greed, how does he live with himself and his religious and ethical calling?

    ReplyDelete
  14. 3 of those "men" voted for Vieste and drained thousands of dollars out of the county.

So, let us chase off those who may be coming around?

Think of the "facts" these folks were inundated with, by the likes of Ewbank and Company?

Think of what you are saying.

The past is the past, the future...well...

    ReplyDelete
  15. Charlie will come around.

    God's word is not fleeting.

    ReplyDelete
  16. One cannot serve God and mammon, so it seems he's made his choice.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Vieste and Fox, Hughes, Benning and Ewbank bamboozled a lot of people with their big hype and secret meetings and fancy agenda.

Maybe the Council was sold a big load of crap dressed up as the salvation of the County.

  18. One cannot serve God and mammon, so it seems he's made his choice.

And no course, once set, can go unaltered?

    Open your heart.

Do not chase away those who may wish to be your brothers.

    ReplyDelete
  19. "Maybe the Council was sold a big load of crap dressed up as the salvation of the County."

hhm gets it right, I think!!!

    ReplyDelete
  20. "And no course, once set, can go unaltered?"

The opportunity is his, will he take it?

    ReplyDelete
  21. "Vieste and Fox, Hughes, Benning and Ewbank bamboozled..."

THREE RETARDS AND THE SHORT BUS DRIVER...

    ReplyDelete
  22. "The opportunity is his, will he take it?"

Will you invite him to "take it"...or will you block him for his past supposed transgressions?

Step aside...let God do his work.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Charlie, ask John why HE did not already hook on to St. Leon Sewers, as was mandated for the rest of us?

    Ask him Charlie.

    Why Charlie?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Charlie, look around you.

Are you where you want to be?

    ReplyDelete
  25. Why did Brett take down his big sign on 50?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Nobody wants a CHARLIE in the box!

    ReplyDelete
  27. Nobody wants a CHARLIE in the box, in the pocket of a John!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Bob Ewbank, as a child, had the first newspaper route where his neighbors were forced to pay for a newspaper that he felt he was "above" delivering, so he did not!!!

Then he got a job non-sharpening lawn mower blades for Johnny Nugent!!!

    Then, magic happened!!!

And it is here we find ourselves!!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Why did Brett take down his big sign on 50?

    ReplyDelete
  30. not god devil does stuff like they do...

    ReplyDelete
  31. Our Father has reign over all.

    And our Father will reign.

Don't let these very short trespasses trouble you.

Robert, John and their lesser minions will fade away.

    Faith.

    ReplyDelete
  32. What about someone like Benning?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Quiet.

    She has already passed.

    ReplyDelete
  34. "She has already passed."

    Like a kidney stone!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Be thankful you have a functioning kidney.

  36. The Blog that made Vera Benning famous let hear more of Benning
    she is an interesting person.

    Very Very interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Very Very interesting.

    If you like slow learners...

She is now nothing more than a patronage hire charity case...

    Just another Bob Ewbank tragedy...

    ReplyDelete
  38. Don't blame Bob for Vera!

Even Bob could not create a hubris filled backwater harridan such as Vera!

She is unique all to herself!

I heard you cannot even mention her name around her neighbors without an outpouring of opinions as to the bile she spews forth!

    ReplyDelete
  39. The Blog that made Vera Benning famous

    ???

Did the New York Times make Imelda Marcos famous???

Other than a couple pairs of shoes, no distinguishable difference between Imelda and Vera!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Rick and Jeff are lackeys...but even they have some redeemable, likable characteristics.

But Vera, there is something, deep-seated, dislikable there.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Why did Brett take down his big sign on 50?

    ReplyDelete
  42. perhaps because the extension on the subdivision approval expired in late Nov or Dec

    ReplyDelete
  43. Benning is not entirely gone. Fox and Hughes gave her another year on the PTABOA Board (the board that hears appeals on assessments) and she still screws the county as the the sewer board secretary (in a way it is appropriate for her to be the sewer employee - she's full of it.)

The county will be better off when she's cut off to where she cannot damage anyone in the county, at least from a government standpoint.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Did Benning ever apologise to the folks of High Ridge?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Keep this thing going with benning I hear she loves it
makes her feel all warm and cozy.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Keep this thing going with benning I hear she loves it
makes her feel all warm and cozy.

No, it is putting our tax dollars into her purse and helping a few corrupt developers try to force the rest of us to pay for their sewers that makes Benning feel all warm and cozy.

A real job would leave her both frigid and fidgety!

By the way, is High Ridge still dumping raw sewage into Hogan’s Creek?

    ReplyDelete
  47. just how objective is MS BENNING on the PTABOA board....

    ReplyDelete
  48. Benning, objective?

She will trip all over herself pandering to developers!

    ReplyDelete
  49. There will be a sea change next year when the development toadies are thrown out of office.

Watching development's political dirty tricks will be entertaining to say the least.

    Stock up on popcorn.
