20 AUGUST 2019 DEARBORN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING NOTES

TITLE VI STATEMENT FOR COMPLIANCE was read by Baudendistel as legally required.

ADMINISTRATOR – Sue Hayden
Schneider Agreement- got funds through the budget for 2020 also and so now they can contract for this. Pricing is only valid through Aug 31st. $63,600 per year. $20,000 is for the rest of 2019 (prorated.) Probst had wanted to table this. But the deadline necessitates deciding this tonight.
Thatcher- They had Schneider do a deep dive into GIS platform per Thatcher. There are things they can improve for us also.The position of GIS coordinator has been a revolving door. They can get higher pay elsewhere. To add stability to the position Schneider will help achieve this. If it does not work out then we a 30 day out. It is a prepaid contract. The reimbursement is for $174 for each day unused. Schneider is already on Beacon for our services .
Commissioners approved the contract.
SE IN Economic Opportunity Corporation (SEIOC) Appointment - Sonia Kaffenberger- Commissioners reappointed her again this year as Commissioners rep for this board.
Form 96 for 2019 Line Striping - presenting for Todd Listerman- Highway Engineer- this is a formality for what was approved at their last meeting. This is a public works form 96. Oglesby was the approved bidder. Approved
NRCS Grant Application - presenting for Tim Grieve- Highway Superintendent- $2,528,770 grant from Natural Resources Conservation Services. $632,192 is our share of a 75/25% grant share. This is for repair of county roads from spring flooding. Approved.
AUDITOR – Connie Fromhold - Claims and Minutes from the August 6th meeting approved and signed.
ATTORNEY – Andy Baudendistel- Aurora and Greendale had come to county previously on tax deeds to get special taxes and fees removed. Alan Miller. Attorney for Aurora brought the new law to Andy’s attention that the process is simpler. This cancellation of fees for the city or municipality buying the properties was approved by Commissioners now and not the Dept of Local Government Finance as previously required. Signed.
Hearing scheduled next week on the Haas animal case for a vicious dog on Arch Street. The dog is no longer here but in KY. Marlene will check with Lawrenceburg police on this to be sure the dog is gone. The owners were cited more than once.
