Why Should We Be Concerned About Precinct Committee Candidates?
Upon hearing about a number of new candidates for Republican precinct committee men and women being challenged by the local Republican party and not being allowed to run, I decided to look at the precincts and their current appointees. Below is the list of those precinct office holders from August 2023. Please remember that they are the representatives who vote in a caucus to elect a new official when someone is unable to complete their term of office.
Some of the people on this list do NOT live in the precinct that they represent.
This primary election May 7th is open to elect precinct committeemen and women and the next time the voters get to elect any of them is in 4 more years. If no one runs for that precinct the GOP gets to appoint someone to fill that spot. And as you can see above, that person may not be a resident of your precinct.

The list of 2024 candidates is below- so if you see that you were not being represented by someone in your precinct before - you have an option this year. (Miller 3 and Sparta 1 have no candidates running in this election.) Candidates are listed alphabetically.
