IN) – Mark Banschbach, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Dearborn
County Chamber of Commerce, is pleased to announce the appointment of Nancy A.
Spivey, CCE as Executive Director.
Serving as the Chamber’s Executive Director, Spivey assures that the
almost 350 members of the Chamber will be properly served through a variety of
programs, benefits and services that specifically promote local business
retention and growth through employer and employee education and 21st
century workforce development in the Dearborn County community.
Ms. Spivey holds
a Bachelor’s degree in English Education and Journalism from the University of
Central Oklahoma. A veteran Chamber
executive, Spivey holds the highest industry certification, a Certified Chamber
of Commerce Executive (CCE) designation from the American Chamber of Commerce
Executives. In addition, she received
her Certified Grants Writer designation from The Grantsmanship Center, as well
as IOM (Institute for Organizational Management) certification from the
American Chamber of Commerce Executives.
Ms. Spivey
comes to us from the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, a nationally
recognized 5-Star accredited Chamber of Commerce where she served as Chief
Operating Officer and Executive Director of IMPACT Northern Kentucky, Inc., the
Northern Kentucky Chamber’s nonprofit affiliate dedicated to leadership and
workforce development. Spivey was also Board
President of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives (KCCE).
She will
provide the Dearborn County Chamber with broad expertise in Customer Centered
Leadership, Workforce and Community Development, Strategic Planning,
Networking, Process and Product Development, Fund Development and Budget
Oversight, as well as Motivating and Mentoring Colleagues and Future Leaders,
Human Capital Management and Research and Data Analysis.
While her
starting date is yet to be finalized, it is expected that she will assume her
responsibilities no later than April 1, 2014.
An Open House is being planned at the Chamber Office to welcome Nancy
(watch for more details). In a way,
this will be a homecoming for Nancy since she is a native of the County and
graduate of East Central High School.
