Guilford- Kevin from Hrezo reported- Tank lifted out of the hole- factors they found- incomplete backfill, empty tank and water in the excavation. Manufacturer is schedule in August to begin the repairs- $85,000 NTE at this time is estimated for the repairs. Needs to be repaired and investigation.
Question was how to get the project completed on time and then later have the responsible party for final payment determined. The insurance investigation would delay the project finish date.
The tank manufacturer will be doing the repairs.
The NTE $85,000 was approved by the Board. They will discuss which funds they will use for this payment.
Fehrman- The dewatering stations need to be in working order. The tank covers need got have better cohesion. If we put it in the ground in the next week we need to have that solved. The solid cove his 3-5 ft over the pea gravel.Needs 3 ft of soil cover too.
Beiersdorfer wants question answered regarding why the tanks weren’t filled before installed.
Prefer to bury the tank before they repair it. The tank material is flimsy unless buried ?
Best solution- be sure the area is De-watered. The expense is capped at $85,000 per the engineers (at Hrezo)
Meinders said they started work out there and dewatering wells were empty essentially when he got their today. Moving stuff to start on the work in the morning. Some of that water needs to be pumped out. Going to wet as they go when they have the pea gravel. Have 4 ft of water as ballast when they start. 3 ft of gravel on the low side, 4 ft of water in the tank and 5 ft of pea gravel on the high side. Going to lower the water table from what they initially had. Pressure is the issue. What about strapping on the RR side. 11 ft of pea gravel has to be reduced by 5 or 6 ft to start.
Deadmen price is $1200 each. Trucking is $2000. Buying 3 deadmen to have 1 to spare. Approved.
PVC pipe and fittings are in Indy.
Fehrman- have Hrezo Engineering get videos of these repairs- They Agreed.
Claims: Approved- just $100.
Adjourn: 5:40 PM
