I didn't know Witte had a personal Beef with Blankenship. But he didn't write the letter, he was the recipient. I think the court employee has a boss- and that boss needs to look into what went happened. After reading those transcripts, I can see why they might have been embarrassed to produce them for appeal. Mistakes happen, but this case seems to abound with them. Alerting the Disciplinary Commission with factual information seems prudent.
Clearly there is a bit of an edge to this letter (who wouldn't be angry?) but conveying the court reporters error is NOT dragging 'her through the mud' On the contrary, it is Sue Brewington's right and duty.
This transcript issue is extremely important to the judicial process. Brewington could spend more time in jail because some appealable issue was not able to be made because there were “no hearings” and therefore “no transcripts.” Pursuant to the Access to Public Records Act (Ind. Code 5-14-3), I made another public records request for the tapes of the two “missing” hearings on August 7, 2012. I have not gotten a response yet. If Judge Blankenship is short staffed I don’t think adding more prisoners in an expanded jail is going to help the situation. Maybe more people need to request tapes and transcripts from this office. Unfortunately “mistakes” are made and the public being aware could be our last chance to demand that the system works.
This guy needs to get a life and quit clogging up the justice system with frivolous actions.
His obsessiveness just highlights the fact that he is his own worst enemy. Look at the reports of his trial. It is no wonder he is in the mess he's in. But as is typical of people like this, he blames everyone else rather than looking in the mirror.
If the people who are carrying his water really want to help him, encourage him to clean up his act.

Politics, obviously. Everyone knows Witte has a personal beef with Judge Blankenship.
Dragging an over-worked, NON-elected court employee through the mud for personal and political revenge? Absolutely shameful.
