 21 MAY 2024 DEARBORN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING NOTES


Present: Jim Thatcher, President, Alan Goodman, and Rick Probst


Also present:Andy Baudendistel, Attorney, and Sue Hayden, Administrator


ABSENT: Connie Fromhold, Auditor,


TITLE VI STATEMENT FOR COMPLIANCE was read by Baudendistel as legally required.


PUBLIC HEARING

Proposed Zone Map Amendment from Agriculture (A) to Moderate Industrial (I-2), presented by Nicole Daily, Director of Planning & Zoning - Farmer Property at Moore Rd and Harrison Brookville Rd. There are flood zone areas within the land area. They are keeping the lower half of the property Agricultural.

Right now property owners just want the zone in order go sell the property. 

One person spoke at the PC hearing who lives across the creek area- concerns with it being Industrial

Dennis Kraus Jr who was surveyor- other property is a turkey processor. There are other business zones in this area. As Nicole said- flood area will have to be permitted thru the state. There may be things they can do to build land up if the state allows.This does fit with the Comp Plan. There are utilities etc. The RR tracks are partially washed out near Brookville.

Ordinance 2024-007 to Change Zoning Classification of Certain Real Estate From Ag to Industrial 1. Approved. 


OLD BUSINESS


Ordinance 2024-008 - Terminating the Declared Emergency Fund- Baudendistel presented this old fund from COVID from March 2020. It goes to County General. Approved. 


NEW BUSINESS


Bright Parade – Tamara Taylor, Editor of Bright Beacon- speaking for the Bright Parade and Bright Business- This will be again this year and checked with Shane McHenry. June 29th. Aurora Lions will be there and they will have sound system etc. Approved to close roads there 


Dillsboro Interlocal for 911 Dispatch= $18,533.23 already paid by Dillsboro-  for a one year agreement. Plan on meeting with them and Jared and look at budget and process. Not talked to 911 people yet.Approved. 

Zt Leon is the only one left get done.

AUDITOR – Sue Hayden covering-  -Claims/Payroll and May 8th Minutes- Approved


ATTORNEY – Andy Baudendistel- none


COMMISSIONER COMMENTS- Probst- Keep it safe for Memorial Day weekend.
