E. NEW BUSINESS – 1. Request: Grand Oak Estates Phase II Primary Plat—13 lot subdivision Applicant/Owner: Seig Surveying / Norb Schmid Site Location: 370 Grand Oak Drive Parcel: #15-01-01-200-001-000.006 Township: Harrison Size: 195 acres Zoning: Agriculture 

F. ADMINISTRATIVE  DEARBORN COUNTY PROPOSED ZONING MAP and TEXT CHANGES – To review and discuss proposed ordinance amendments and updates to the Dearborn County Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map, specifically with respect to the text(s) of: Articles 9 and 10, regarding Agricultural and Residential Zoning Districts; Article 25, regarding General Standards and new Use Development Standards; Article 27, regarding Definitions.

Dear Citizens:

 

The next Plan Commission meeting is scheduled for September 25th at 6:00pm.  We do have a case that night on a proposed subdivision along Grand Oak Drive that will probably take up most of the meeting.  At this time we do not plan on discussing any draft Zoning Ordinance text or map changes at this meeting.  With that being said if there is time, the Board will allow people the opportunity to speak, there just won’t be any scheduled discussions at this meeting.

 

I do want to let you know the estimated plan for the next several months for the review of the draft map and ordinance changes.  In September the Board does not plan on reviewing any of the proposed changes.

 

In October (if there are no cases), the Board plans on reviewing all draft Zoning Ordinance text and map changes (the maps would include all the townships at this meeting).  The October meeting is set for October 23rd at 6:00pm.  The Board has not yet made any decisions on request that have been made by the public and I am hoping that they come to a consensus at this meeting to the final look of the text and maps.  But please remember if the meeting last long with public decisions, it could continue into the month of November.

 

In November (if there are no cases), the Board plans on one or two things.  Either continuing with the review of all the draft Zoning Ordinance text and map changes (this would be a continuance of discussions if necessary from the October meeting) OR the Plan Commission could be ready to take an official vote on the proposed changes.  If they take a vote it would be in a form of a recommendation to the County Commissioners.  The November meeting is set for November 27th at 6:00pm.

 

If the Board continues the discussion in the November meeting.  Then the vote on the changes would be scheduled for the December meeting.  The December meeting is set for December 18th at 6:00pm.

 

At this time, this is the best estimate of how the upcoming meetings will go with the discussions of the proposed text and map zoning changes.   I highly suggest citizens who would like to express their support or concerns please be present at the October November and possibly December meetings.  I can not guarantee if the vote will take place at one of the meetings I have listed above, but we are trying to give an estimated time to give enough notice to people.
