He was born Tuesday, September 27, 1938 in Brookville, Indiana, Son of the late Shelby Barrett and the late Laura Sellers Barrett.
Maynard was a member of the United States National Guard. He worked as a Superintendant for Davison Chemical Co., a division of WR Grace, retiring after over 34 years of service. He was a longtime member of the First Presbyterian Church of Aurora and Aurora Masonic 32° member for 51 years. He worked on the committee with the United Way and was a Dearborn County Councilman for 7 years. Maynard enjoyed traveling with his wife Jackie and his beloved dog, Sugar.
Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Jacquelynne Barrett; sons, Jeff (Margaret) Barrett of Aurora, IN, Doug (Kelly) Barrett of Dillsboro, IN; Grandchildren, Alexis and Morgan Barrett.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Melvin Barrett.
Friends will be received 5:00 - 8:00 PM, Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at the Rullman Hunger Funeral Home, Aurora, Indiana.
Services will be held at the Funeral Home, Wednesday, at 11:00 am with Jim Burkhardt officiating.
Interment will follow in the River View Cemetery, Aurora, IN 47001.
