18 MAY 2021 DEARBORN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING NOTES


Present: Jim Thatcher, President, Art Little, and Rick Probst


Also present: Connie Fromhold, Auditor, Andy Baudendistel, Attorney, and Sue Hayden, Administrator


TITLE VI STATEMENT FOR COMPLIANCE was read by Baudendistel as legally required.


OLD BUSINESS 

Ordinance Modifying the Americans Recovery Program Funds Plan- This puts into place an advisory group to evaluate all the proposals for the money the county gets from this program. Approved and signed.


NEW BUSINESS

Resolution to Authorize the Purchase of Real Property from INDOT- Baudendistel said this is in reference to the sale of the hospital and part of the land that the new patient tower is on is owned by INDOT. INDOT agreed to Rob Seig’s survey description. It’s a 0.078 acre parcel for $800 paid by the County. The Quit Claim deed will get signed on their end too. In the end there will be a big Quit claim done that will get all that belongs to St. Elizabeth into their name. Also some with LMU ( Lawrenceburg Municipal Utilities) - this issue was caused when they re-routed SR 48 years ago. Approved and signed. 


ADMINISTRATOR – Sue Hayden- housekeeping item- certificate of local approval for the Heart House that they sign annually. Approved and Thatcher signed. 

Craig Beckley is retiring from Heart House this month. Wyatt Sampson is his replacement and he is training him. He will Bring Wyatt to one of the June meetings.


AUDITOR – Connie Fromhold  -Claims/Payroll and May 4th Minutes approved.


Resolution for a Supplemental to the Code of Ordinances- Baudendistel- this says that the ordinances submitted by American Legal are all updated. Approved and signed.  


ATTORNEY – Andy Baudendistel- who is city attorney for Rising Sun- Bill Marksberry passed away and he helped Brent Bascom the mayor after him to get acclimated. Baudendistel expressed condolences to his family.


COMMISSIONER COMMENTS

Probst- Continue to remain vigilant with Covid- 20 positive cases last week.

Back into orange barrel season- a lot of construction and need to be patient with delays


Little- If we want better roads we have to put up with orange barrels. COVID- also be cautious still. He repeated his story about how serious the Spanish flu was. And that this COVID is nothing compared to Spanish flu. 


Thatcher- nothing more to add.
