 1 June 2021 DEARBORN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING NOTES


Present: Jim Thatcher, President, Art Little, and Rick Probst


Also present: Connie Fromhold, Auditor, Andy Baudendistel, Attorney, and Sue Hayden, Administrator


TITLE VI STATEMENT FOR COMPLIANCE was read by Baudendistel as legally required.

ADMINISTRATOR – Sue Hayden


INDOT LPA Final Contract for Bridge #108 Harrison Brookville Road Project- (Sue presenting for  Hwy Engineer Todd Listerman- who is celebrating his wedding anniversary. Congrats to them.) This gives $2,792,852 ( our 80% return) back. $698,213 is what we paid. approved and signed electronically.


AUDITOR – Connie Fromhold  -Claims/Payroll and May 18th Minutes approved


Grant- Health Dept. requesting  $2895 to have COVID Vaccine Clinic at County Fairgrounds- and food incentives. Approved. 


ATTORNEY – Andy Baudendistel- Proclamation  updated protocol for COVID due to Governor’s change of requirements this weekend. Mask mandate for state govt buildings will be lifted except for congregate buildings like jails will be lifted. Masks are encouraged still. Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center and Juvenile Detention Center and COVID testing facilities still need masks. Strongly encouraged all children 12 and older to be vaccinated. 


COMMISSIONER COMMENTS

Probst- still promoting getting vaccinated.

Little- Memorial Day - thanking the veterans and when you see a vet thank you for your service.And they thanked Probst.

Thatcher- The fear that we won’t go back to normal  seems to be low as people get used to no masks. Hope we don’t have to do masks again.


LATE ARRIVAL INFORMATION- Chief of Harrison Fire Dept- want to meet with Commissioners for a 1 year contract with a 5% increment. Previously it was a 3 year with 3% increases. There is a lot of development going on in the 52 Corridor. They might have to expand also to accommodate the extra homes and commercial planned in their area. Dry Fork/New Haven is building up. There is a separate agreement on mutual aid. $19,000 is a fire contract with Harrison Township. All EMS runs get 4-5 paramedics. There is a board set up that includes the full board of commissioners. Andy Baudendistel suggested that only one be on the board as 2 or more constitutes a meeting that should be public.
