 15 JUNE 2021 DEARBORN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING NOTES


Present: Jim Thatcher, President, Art Little, and Rick Probst


Also present: Connie Fromhold, Auditor, Andy Baudendistel, Attorney, and Sue Hayden, Administrator


TITLE VI STATEMENT FOR COMPLIANCE was read by Baudendistel as legally required.


OLD BUSINESS- none


ADMINISTRATOR – Sue Hayden- Signature for Lease Renewal - COVID 19 testing facility- Health Dept is renting the old bank building on Wilson Creek Road. Wants an extension for $6,000 total for 6 months. This is grant money and so no money from the county required. Baudendistel reviewed the lease again. Ohio County is included. Apprved and signed.  


AUDITOR – Connie Fromhold  -Claims/Payroll - Thatcher noted that Probst thoroughly reviews all the claims prior to them signing - Approved. June 1st Minutes approved.


Grants - Health Dept. - COVID 19 testing - continuing grant $50,000 each for Dearborn and Oho Counties-  approved.


Immunization Grant renewal- $78,123 for Health Dept. Approved


ATTORNEY – Andy Baudendistel- nothing tonight.


COMMISSIONER COMMENTS

Probst- This is the last meeting before July 4- wish everyone  safe holiday. Hope people come to understand the meaning of Independence Day.

Little- Also remember our forefather’s sacrifice along with the celebrities.

Thatcher- Continue to see COVID numbers looking good and out Health Dept has done an excellent job managing it.

NEW BUSINESS

PUBLIC HEARING- with Sunman Dearborn School Corporation regarding CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) - to begin at 5:15 PM as advertised on Blight Clearance Program- Comments and Questions from the Public- no one commented or questioned.Closed Public Hearing. 

Baudendistel presented the resolution to submit a grant application and SDSC is matching the  funds in the amount of $52,080. Nicole Daily and Susan Craig (SEIRPC) were present for this as well as Mike Perleberg and Dr. Andrew Jackson. Approved by Commissioners. They also signed a letter of support for this grant application from the Commissions. 

5687 North Dearborn Road is the school site for demolition. They signed the letter stating that this was a priority for public safety. There is a disclosure report that had to be signed. They also needed legal counsel to sign off on this.
