(Lawrenceburg, IN) – Mark Banschbach, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Dearborn County Chamber of Commerce, is pleased to announce the appointment of Nancy A. Spivey, CCE as Executive Director.  Serving as the Chamber’s Executive Director, Spivey assures that the almost 350 members of the Chamber will be properly served through a variety of programs, benefits and services that specifically promote local business retention and growth through employer and employee education and 21st century workforce development in the Dearborn County community.

Ms. Spivey holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Education and Journalism from the University of Central Oklahoma.  A veteran Chamber executive, Spivey holds the highest industry certification, a Certified Chamber of Commerce Executive (CCE) designation from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives.  In addition, she received her Certified Grants Writer designation from The Grantsmanship Center, as well as IOM (Institute for Organizational Management) certification from the American Chamber of Commerce Executives.

Ms. Spivey comes to us from the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, a nationally recognized 5-Star accredited Chamber of Commerce where she served as Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of IMPACT Northern Kentucky, Inc., the Northern Kentucky Chamber’s nonprofit affiliate dedicated to leadership and workforce development.  Spivey was also Board President of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Executives (KCCE).

She will provide the Dearborn County Chamber with broad expertise in Customer Centered Leadership, Workforce and Community Development, Strategic Planning, Networking, Process and Product Development, Fund Development and Budget Oversight, as well as Motivating and Mentoring Colleagues and Future Leaders, Human Capital Management and Research and Data Analysis.

While her starting date is yet to be finalized, it is expected that she will assume her responsibilities no later than April 1, 2014.   An Open House is being planned at the Chamber Office to welcome Nancy (watch for more details).   In a way, this will be a homecoming for Nancy since she is a native of the County and graduate of East Central High School.
