 2 JANUARY 2024 DEARBORN COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEETING NOTES


Present: Jim Thatcher, President, Alan Goodman, and Rick Probst


Also present: Connie Fromhold, Auditor, Andy Baudendistel, Attorney, and Sue Hayden, Administrator


TITLE VI STATEMENT FOR COMPLIANCE was read by Baudendistel as legally required.


REORGANIZATION OF BOARD


Election of Board President- Jim Thatcher was approved again as President.


Re-appointments of Department Heads- Probst thanked all the dept heads and said they worked independently and can for guidance as needed. Appreciated their attitudes as they say they work for the citizens of the county. The other 2 commissioners agreed with him. All approved. Several  dept heads thanked the commissioners.

NEW BUSINESS


Bid Award Small structure #211- Lower Dillsboro Rd- Todd Listerman, County Engineer- bid opening yielded 

OLCO- $642,538.11

Rohe- $675,649.00

O’Mara- $721,839.00

McAlister- $818,960

The lowest bid was OLCO- Commissioners accepted and approved that bid.


Inspection and testing contract for that  #211 project was FPBH was NTE- $33,160.00- and Baudendistel had reviewed the contract. Approved. 


Community Crossing Paving bid opening for 2024 will be next week. 


YES HOME update- grant for $100,000 for additional counseling space in the downstairs level. Lilly endowment grant $880,000 was also able to use $50,000 for the downstairs renovation. These will go out sometime in February for bids. Contracting in March. $452,000 is Hrezo’s projection. Needed a motion to proceed. Approved. The bell tower reinforcement as it is leaning was also approved. Maxwell is on that,


ADMINISTRATOR – Sue Hayden- thanked for her appointment and has nothing more today. 


AUDITOR – Connie Fromhold  -Claims/Payroll and December 19th Minutes- Approved.


ATTORNEY – Andy Baudendistel- talked them for reappointment 


COMMISSIONER COMMENTS- Alan Goodman- Happy New Year and Thatcher said he was looking forward to 2024.
