WALL STREET JOURNAL "EMINENT REALITY"

People on the blogsite might be interested in reading the following:

The Opinion page (P. A16) of THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, Wednesday, January 30, 2008, "Eminent Reality".

The article addresses the question--does restricting the power of government to seize private property harm economic growth? A recently issued report from the Institute of Justice examined the evidence and concluded the answer was no. There are a few examples in the article that support the Institute of Justice position, which challenges the economic claims made by those supporting "eminent domain".

looks like no one cares...

We care!

Just nothing to debate with such a truth!

Even Ewbank and friends would not try utilizing such a loophole to give this county to Maxwell in the current political climate!

Anonymous said...

Have you met Bob Ewbank? Remember, he and Lisa Lehner created the DCRSD to raid our pockets for Maxwell and Company.

Anonymous said...

Wow, that's convoluted.

Wow!

Still chewing on Vera's earlobe?

Give it a rest!

Her brain reached saturation level in the early 8o's!

Who will be this year's "Linkmeyer," if I may ask?

Anonymous said...

Give it a rest?

No one mentioned Vera or Linkmeyer, who is the one who needs to "give it a rest"?

Anonymous said...

Don't you mean Linkmeyers? They will need to run two development shills to make up for Fox and Hughes' loss in the primary.

Anonymous said...

No one mentioned Vera or Linkmeyer, who is the one who needs to "give it a rest"?

Good luck this May.

Anonymous said...

uh oh, there goes "shill". soon we can expect "opaque", "transparent", "rank and file", "subsidize"!

Anonymous said...

Linkmeyer...Linkmeyers...six of one...a half dozen of another...whatever our regal and respected Republican Leadership have to throw at the honest rank and file Republican Primary Voter.

Anonymous said...

SEE! RANK AND FILE showed up STAT

I'm friggin Nostradamus!

Anonymous said...

uh oh, there goes "shill". soon we can expect "opaque", "transparent", "rank and file", "subsidize"!

What next, more sage ramblings from a "shitster" ,"shafter" and a "shyster?"

How you doing?

Screwing our neighbors for just another buck in your purse?

Anonymous said...

STAT...get that crooked girl some ethics...I.V. push!!!

Anonymous said...

"I'm friggin Nostradamus!"

Well then, please give Rick Fox and Jeff Hughes the bad news coming this May.

Anonymous said...

So, when your "manufactured" candidate loses in the general election by a few votes, will you once again not ask for a recount?

Afraid of what a little scrutiny may lop on your lap?

Anonymous said...

Well then, please give Rick Fox and Jeff Hughes the bad news coming this May.

As if they give a rat's ass about Jeff and Rick?

They will just move on to their next choice of useful idiots.

Anonymous said...

Statim!!!

Duck!!!

Crooked incoming coming from our local dishonest development interests!!!

Antibiotics all!!!

Before you fall of the same disease that now corrupts our local republican leadership!!!

Anonymous said...

"SEE! RANK AND FILE showed up STAT"

Run away little girl...run away.

A battle with two fronts...makes you nervous and desperate...we all know.

It does suck to be found out...does it not?

Anonymous said...

"...uh oh, there goes "shill". soon we can expect "opaque", "transparent", "rank and file", "subsidize"!

Do keep paying attention. Sometimes it is much less painful to know the person who will thrust our last death blow. Bleed out quick. We have little time to make things right once again. Thanks to your lowly workings.

Anonymous said...

Thankfully, sometimes dishonesty does not pay dividends...

Anonymous said...

Whoa! Must've pissed "rank and file" off big time, look at the response!

Anonymous said...

"Whoa! Must've pissed "rank and file" off big time, look at the response!"

Thank goodness you have a special talent for servicing your fellow DCEDI members!

We would not want you feeling both cheap and alone!

Anonymous said...

Why do you post a quote and then make a comment that has nothing to do with it?

Anonymous said...

"Whoa! Must've pissed "rank and file" off big time, look at the response!"

Make sure you piss off the "rank and file" this May. Good luck with all your future endeavors.

Anonymous said...

"Why do you post a quote and then make a comment that has nothing to do with it?"

Do keep lecturing us all on what you do not comprehend.

Vote the Fox and Hughes' ticket.

Do us all a favor.

Don't confuse us with your originality of thought or ethics.

Anonymous said...

You wait for May? Why?

Thomson is in. Did it matter? No.

Will it matter if someone else is in for Fox/Hughes? Maybe.

Everyone has a conflict of interest. Pretend you don't and you are a bigger whore than is appaerent to the public.

Anonymous said...

Someone, throw a dollar or two to these development leeches, maybe they will slither and slime away. Give them their little victory. Let them think they pick-pocketed a few of our dollars. Whatever makes them feel special.

Anonymous said...

Yeah, that Thompson is such an awful man.

Not kowtowing and blowing the next and more important development interest waiting in line to attach our savings to feed their personal greed!

Anonymous said...

Thompson. That man the republican primary voter voted for. What did the republican leadership do to countermand such vote? Pissants and pricks all?

Anonymous said...

SHOW me where we took your money. BACK you words up with numbers. It's not there.

You should write books, maybe the Idiot's Guide series, "Idiots Guide to Jumping to Conclusions".

Show me something.

Anonymous said...

Show you wear you took or tried to take our money?

Please gaze over your meaty shoulder and look what you have done and or tried to do to force us to subsidize your sewers (See St. Leon and the DCRSD!)

Anonymous said...

You should write books..."

You should read some books...

...not written by Michael Milken and associates...

As High Ridge Estates continues to dump raw sewage into our waterways.

Thank the good Lord that Lisa and Bob forced into existence the dcrsd!

All our problems, meaning John Maxwell's problems, are in the works for the "BIG FIX!"

Anonymous said...

"Where", not "were". You're not helping your case when you can't even spell or make a coherent sentence.

You say "tried", a man "tried" to sell me a vacuum cleaner a day or two ago. I said no and didn't bitch about it for 2 yrs.

Anonymous said...

"Idiots Guide to Jumping to Conclusions".

But please do not jump to any conclusions in the THINKING process!

When that blood vessel finally pops in your throbbing forehead, I will say nice things at your sparse attended funeral.

Really I will.

It'll be a while, so while you're sitting around waiting around for me to kick it, I'll be living life! You obviously have nothing else to do.

You should really rethink being a bitter bugaboo.

Anonymous said...

Someone is quite bitter.

Sometimes rigging elections still leave you feeling empty and alone.

But we welcome all under the "Smart Growth" tent.

Say good bye to dishonesty and self-serving attitudes.

Anonymous said...

Good bye?

I gotta go, I actually have somethign to do!

Anonymous said...

I'll be living life!

Well good for you!

May all your future Star Trek Conventions be fruitful and empowering!

But just, so you know, a true and rich sex life, is not "science fiction!"

Does Maxwell pay by the hour or the trick?

"Does Maxwell pay by the hour or the trick?"

Dunno, haven't approached the "Big Scary Man" for your pelts yet. Trying to decide which side to bat for. Is he that bad or are you guys full of it?

Anonymous said...

Dunno, haven't approached the "Big Scary Man" for your pelts yet. Trying to decide which side to bat for. Is he that bad or are you guys full of it?

Not quite ready to be "living life" life yet?

High Ridge just keeps on a pouring what you all just keep on producing into Hogan's Creek.

How about "living life" in another County or State?

Anonymous said...

""Big Scary Man" for your pelts"

Skinning, stretching and drying and still a Maxwell pelt will not be worth the time and trouble to overcome the sub-prime quagmire of return they would bring at market.

Anonymous said...

"Not quite ready to be "living life" life yet?"

Look above, this is why SEI and Dearborn County are dying.

You can only slop Skyline Chili for so long, so matter how much the locals like it!

Anonymous said...

Maxwell ass DNA links so many of this County's self-described "Movers and Shakers!"

Anonymous said...

Look above, this is why SEI and Dearborn County are dying.

Dying?

Forcing me to subsidize your development is life affirming?

Anonymous said...

"You can only slop Skyline Chili for so long, so matter how much the locals like it!"

Better being a chili slopper than a realtor, developer or a shyster cyst!

Anonymous said...

All of us...we must delve into our individual equities...to make sure some of our more entitled and spoiled brats do not feel the "pinch" of normal market forces!!!

Anonymous said...

Quit dicking around with our "entitled" class. It makes them whinny and hard to live with.

Or so says their mates and mistresses.

Anonymous said...

"Thomson is in. Did it matter? No."

Thompson, plus one more like him, will matter.

And then the puppeteers' power will end in a flash.

May will be painful for you.

November will be crippling for you.

I guess dishonesty does not pay after all.

Anonymous said...

Good bye?

I gotta go, I actually have somethign to do!

Political corruption can be so demanding on one's time, can it not?

Find some time for your fellow, non-dcedi neighbor!

You will not need a shower afterwards!

What a refreshing change that will be for you!

Any other anal tendencies?

Do you also hum out loud as you wash your hands 53 times an hour?

Hughes and Fox need to go. One more Commissioner like Thompson and our tax dollars will be used wisely and prudently not wasted on the pollitically connected Commissioners whose "pork barrel" projects are their Guiding light.

Anonymous said...

"SHOW me where we took your money. BACK you words up with numbers. It's not there."

St. Leon sewers...the dcrsd...the dcedi...vieste...all the dollars wasted by crooked lawyers putting together all the "legal" or "extra-legal" documents to support such thievery...

...I could go on.

Anonymous said...

Viesta was only a waste of money because people cried about a study that wasn't even completed. They were all scared of the truth. I-74 should be the economic growth for Dearborn County.

So instead of saying the money was wasted because of developers/realtors I think we need to say it was wasted because of the uneducated people of the county, or better yet the no-growth groups.

Anonymous said...

"...because of the uneducated people of the county..."

Yeah!

We are all stupid and uneducated if we do not follow your lead!

Vieste blew chunks because it was not oriented to benefiting the County as a whole, but a driving force to benefiting a handful of politically connected Countians at the rest of this County's expense!

Hence the secrecy in trying to buy up land from fellow Countians to enrich the politically connected Countians!

But keep trying!

We all enjoy the smoke pouring out from your ears as you "thinkacate!"

Anonymous said...

The N.W. Quad was only valuable to the dcedi few if they could utilize their inside knowledge to buy up our farm land at farm land prices, then laying in wait until their political butt boys pushed to have it rezoned to commercial use. Screw the dcedi and their vieste lobbying franchise.

Anonymous said...

The DCEDI and VIESTE played our dim-witted Benning, Fox and Hughes for the absolute backwater dumb asses that they proved to be.

Ewbank and Lehner sure know how to pick the dumbest from the dumb to fit their and their clients' needs!

Follow the backroom endorsements of the Ewbank/Lehner political cluster f@#k...

...no matter how many knuckle draggers they support, the combined I.Q. of their endorsees still will not reach beyond retard level!

Anonymous said...

"So instead of saying the money was wasted because of developers/realtors I think we need to say...

The I think is where you always find yourself pissing on your shoes...

Anonymous said...

If some of us would have tossed a few more quarters in the charity cups of Vera and her friends, maybe they would not have tried to sell this county out to the highest bidders. Think about that. Be more free with your quarters in the future. Or at least, in the future, pretend that the next group of political nit-wits are somehow more vastly important than their resumes surely suggest.

Anonymous said...

So instead of saying the money was wasted because of developers/realtors

Let us just refer to these certain and particular developers/realtors, or should I say, our certain dishonest and a certain minority of developers/realtors in this county, who have proven to be beyond redemption and hope.

Let us all work hard in excising these vermin from any political significance in this County.

Vote for the anemic team of Fox and Hughes, if you find some satisfaction in lining the pockets of the same ole…same ole…in this once honest and respectful county.

Anonymous said...

VOTE FOR JEFF HUGHES AND RICK FOX, FINALLY GIVE SOME INFLUENCE TO JOHN MAXWELL AND BOB EWBANK IN THIS COUNTY!

LET THEM NOT CONTINUE TO BE ONLY BOTTOM FEEDERS IN THIS COUNTY'S VAST WEALTH AND POTENTIAL!

The money was wasted because the process left out the most important factor- THE CITIZENS and what THEY want. This cry baby approach to the NW Quad is disturbing. It shows no creativity. So there is flat land there. You don't have to be on top of an interstate- just reasonably close with good road access. Start thinking about land that doesn't have such good farming attributes. Or old time family ties. Or no desire to sell.
Start thinking about businesses here who want to expand. Start thinking about what we have and what could spin off from that.
And for heaven's sake start thinking about our schools and what the workforce needs in educational backgrounds.
Make it nice for residents and more will come.
What kind of influx do you really want?
