Write in Bob Ewbank and John Maxwell for County Commissioners.

Cut out the two middle men stand-ins!

Middle men just cost more money

When middle men cost the rest of us money, it is called "growth."

When we hold tight onto our savings the middle men call that "anti-growth."

Only the savings accounts of members in good standing of the DCEDI matter when measuring the benchmarks of "growth" in this County.

The savings accounts of the rest of us pukes must be always available to feather the beds of members in good standing of the DCEDI.

Which is why the local Republican Leadership exists: to transfer our dollars to members in good standing of the DCEDI.

looks like the bank now "owns" some prime residential real estate on Augusta Drive- aka Sugar Ridge.

the middle men didn't do so well there

* Two new polling locations : John Maxwell and Bob Ewbanks basement.

Seems like all those precincts in district one would indicate that district one has too many people- perhaps it needs to be redrawn.

well hell hughes got rid of workers in dist#1 AND MOVED THEM OVER TO DIST#2

Anonymous said...

population driven. dist. 2&3 can have more stations if you want more people there :)

Anonymous said...

why did he do that?

Anonymous said...

cc, I think Hughes should do a phone poll. Hughes' family phone poll is the only way to truly find out what people want, right? I'm still waiting for a phone call from him.

Apparently, they all want what Ewbank wants.

I don't know one person Hughes called. Is he still playing his game?

Reported on WRBI radio......

TIF District Would Help Entice Companies To Batesville
Batesville took the first step to establish a Tax Increment Funding (TIF) district as a way to enhance businesses to the community. Tom Guevara, with Crowe Chizek accounting and consulting firm out of Indy, presented the plan to the five member Redevelopment Commission board Wednesday. They are looking at the 59 acre Prickel farmland on Merkel road that the city bought and annex for future development as a TIF district.

The next step is develop the area to be "shovel ready." One of the tools to do so is by creating a TIF district.

Infrastucture like utilities would be established by the city, as a way to lure companies here. They would then be taxed, helping to offset city’s set up costs. Schools and libraries would not receive any tax revenue from those in the TIF district. However, it was pointed out since it is all new money, they would not be losing any revenue. The benefits of drawing in more business to the community, more residents, etc., would offset the city’s initial costs. The first step is creating an economic development area., and a plan.

Estimated costs are also included in the plan. President Mark Fledderman recognized the importance of TIf. He said as part of the Ripley County Economic Development board, all of the applications they receive are for shovel ready.

Any costs associated would come out of the EDIT (Economic Development Income Tax) funds. The board gave the go ahead to proceed with the project. A public hearing will eventually be held.
...end of report on WRBI.

"Let's have studies, let's have closed door meetings. We are missing the boat in Dearborn County. Let's do phone polls on what people want. We need to be shovel ready, businesses are knocking down doors to come to this area to set-up shop... I can just hear Bozow saying this crap.

"We need to be shovel ready..."

Tautology at its finest.

What will be the 2008 version of "shovel ready?"

Is there anything more tiresome than yuppies reaching for some ethereal form of relevance?

Maxwell has a company in Batesville. It looks like he's just moving closer to Greensburg's Honda to start the same MO in Ripley county that he's been using in Dearborn County.

There was a chemistry professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab, the Prof noticed one young man, an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt.

The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist regime.

In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked:

"Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"

The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said that it was no joke.

"You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming.

When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again.

You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd. Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught.

Soon they go back to eating the free corn . They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity."

The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax cuts, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc. while we continually lose our freedoms, just a litt le at a time.

One should always remember two truths:
1) There is no such thing as a free lunch

2) and you can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.

Think about this at election time.

Maybe Maxwell can get some Ripley County politicians to buy up farm land at farm prices, sell it to him cheap then have his politicians rezone it to commercial use.

We can't have the owners of such farm land profiting more than the politically connected developers, can we?

Quit picking on Maxwell. Some of us are able to make a buck without political collusions and some of us cannot. Let us all hope that Maxwell can at least write off Ewbank and his two trolls on his taxes as a business expense.

First came the St. Leon sewer crooks...

...then came the DCEDI sewer crooks...

What one developer has connections to two of the most dishonest and ethically challenged sewer concerns in this county?

I wonder whom such developer will be supporting in this year's commissioners' race?

"I wonder whom such developer will be supporting in this year's commissioners' race?"

Just look for the two candidates with said developer's arms up their asses to his armpits as he works their mouth organs.

Also, look for the hapless and desperate lawyer supplying said developer with KY Jelly, back massages and whispering words of encouragement into said developer's ear.

SUPER BOWL SUNDAY!!!

Will Ewbank and the two dwarfs be catering Mister Maxwell's SUPER BOWL PARTY?

You are forgetting Maxwell's third puppet. The one on Council, that works for Maxwell!

As Maxwell, Ewbank and Morris lay land mines in the playing field.

How do you know if Maxwell, Ewbank or Morris are taking Viagra?

They get noticeably taller!

There is a sign on both ends of Maxwell's Batesville office, warehouse or whatever that says AVAILABLE.

Maxwell needs to cut some overhead if he is to be able to afford the costs of connecting up to that sewer line in his front yard.

Anonymous said...

Will Ewbank now have "AVAILABLE" tatooed on his forehead?

Anonymous said...

Is there a sewer line that runs down the street in front of Maxwell's house?

Anonymous said...

According to another post on an earlier thread by Thom Hammond, a sewer line does run in front of Maxwell's home.
