We have some very good non-incumbant choices! Thanks for getting involved!

People must want change. Two challengers for each Commissioner and 3 for Council.
WE GET A CHOICE!

What will Ewbank do if his "rubber-stampers" do not get re-elected?

Perhaps being an arrogant bully and self-appointed and self-annoited would-be political "King Maker" is not the way to win friends and influence people?

May he never change!

Good luck to all those candidates looking for real change in this County.

Anonymous said...

Is that "change" I smell cooking in the kitchen? I wonder if our local devious and delinquent development interests will be able to stomach what the “people” are about to ladle up? Maybe they could have Jeff Hughes and family do a phone survey on recipes more appealing to such delinquent development interests? I’m sure the Hughes family will find no one partial to the “people’s” recipe!

Pick the candidate that Gary Morris is not endorsing...and you cannot go wrong!!!!!!!!

Gary and Liz, while being a very cute couple...well you all know where I am going!!!!!!!!

WE GET A CHOICE!

Choice? Our local republican leadership will offer you a choice! Vote for their development vetted choice or they will give you another development vetted non-republican choice to vote for in the general election! No one offers more choices than our local republican leadership! Get with the program! Vote the way you are told and we still have a few "I HEART JIM WEST T-SHIRTS" to send your way!

Casey Finnegan?

Let us hope he is not a "chip off the old block" of Bob Finnegan.

From what I have been hearing, he is not...thankfully.

Good for Casey.

I think it's great that this many people have offered their service to the county.
Let's stick to issues and not to personal attacks on the comments.
Perhaps these candidates will send statements to the blog. If you see some you like- print them out or forward the info to your friends and neighbors.
Let's be respectful. It "ain't" an easy decision to run for office. The least we can do is listen (or read) respectfully and VOTE.

May those seeking public office, who envision "growth" for this county, understand that such "growth must encompass all of us and not just a chosen few.

May they all remember that those of us forced to part with extreme amounts of our families' resources to connect to sewers that we neither need nor desire, that we should also have a strong and clear voice in this county.

We are all made up of more than just what can be picked from our pockets by those who have been given good reason to believe that they have the power to do so by those office holders now tenuously holding onto their elected and now fleeting political power.

I hope to earn your support in this important election. For more information please visit clearyforjudge.com.

Thank you,

Jon Cleary

Good luck Mr. Cleary.

New people, new blood.

The County can only be better for it.

Anonymous said...

Thank the Good Lord for all those willing to give their time to run for office! We are all truly blessed!

Public service should be just that: Public service. Not some lifetime vested taxpayer financed job or used to market your public service connections in the private sector.

Anonymous said...

LETS VOTE THE COUNTY UP SEVERAL STEPS

THATS KATHY SCOTT R DISTRICT 1
COMMISSIONER

Anonymous said...

I need more information about Kathy Scott. What can you tell me?

Anonymous said...

Candidates can send statements, websites, and/or write-ups to the blog for posting.
They can request comments to be turned off on their particular posting or left on.
Hope people are respectful and stick to the issues.
This could be a another way to get information out to the voters.
An informed electorate is vital to a vibrant county.

Many thanks to cbm.
I for one would like to hear from all candidates without the trash comments.

Anonymous said...

This will be most interesting election year.

The passion alone will be something to marvel.

Let us all hope that whoever does win, they will not forget who they work for.

Jerome (Jake) Hoog

Thomas Hammond

Surveyor:

Dennis Kraus

May the very best and honest republicans and democrats win their respective elections.

Honesty, truthfulness and non-self-serving interests are all non-partisan cherished qualities.

Kraus Jr. was at a St. Leon town meeting when the N. W. quad debacle was going on and he publicly praised Jim West,I know Iwas there.

"Kraus Jr. was at a St. Leon town meeting when the N. W. quad debacle was going on and he publicly praised Jim West,I know Iwas there."

Do not let the perfect be the enemy of the good.

Kraus may have just liked Jim West.

Hard not to support people you like, even when their judgement sometimes may be called into question.

Or not.

The North West Quadrant "developer welfare plan" was a mess from beginning to end. Let us get passed that mess by voting out all politicians supporting such mess and giving notice to all county hired help that may have played a part in that same mess!

Anonymous said...

Vote for all those who support you and your neighbors.

Do not vote for those who only seem to support a few politically connected quasi-businessmen and women in this county waiting in line to pilfer whatever is left in your families' savings accounts.

Beware of all those claiming that they only exist to save you from your functional septic systems.

Power outages are not very friendly to the sewers they will be pushing to replace your functional septic systems.

Constipation is not a viable alternative to stave off all the problems inherent in a sewer system, that can no longer be defined or labled as a viable sewer system, when the lights go out.

Anonymous said...

The DCRSD could have been devised and implemented to curtail the indulgences and thievery of what was happening up in St. Leon. But the DCRSD was given life to carry on the absolute nasty agenda of St. Leon. Shameful.

Anonymous said...

Vote...vote...vote for the best candidate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

Anyone know if there is a 3rd candidate on the judge election?

Jeff Hughes for commissioner
Jeff has been and is a fine
County Commissioner he really cares
for the people of Dearborn County
and does his homework , never says
and mean thing about anyone just
a really great man. I hope the people of Dearborn county have seen
this. Jeff has always been there for the person who wants to talk about how they feel and what can be done as far as solutions.
Never puts ANYONE DOWN. A fine Christian Man Good Luck Jeff

You have done a wonderful job.

And Jeff Hughes is against forced hook-ups, just look at his record.

He also is willing to respect the will of the republican primary voter, just look at his record.

Further, if the "people" approve a Comphrensive Plan, that does not fit the agenda of a few dishonest development interests, he will support the "people," look at his record.

That Jeff Hughes, just look at his record.

Anonymous said...

Vote for Commissioner Hughes...finally give Attorney Ewbank and his boss, Mr. Maxwell, a say in this County! Don't cave to the little people of this County! We need someone, finally, to look out for the Movers and Shakers of this County! If you are for those willing to send you a letter forcing you by operation of law, threatening you with Attorneys your tax dollars pay for, to pay for the Movers and Shakers development, then Commissioner Hughes is your man!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

What dcedi endorsed candidate will hughes support in the general election after he loses the primary?

I'm thinking it will not be the republican choice.

Or the poor and struggling mr. morris' choice.

History being a barometer that is.

Anonymous said...

I would vote for Jeff, but I just do not have the disposable income to pay for Maxwell and Company's St. Leon and the DCRSD's sewers!

But I wish Jeff all the best, may he get the blessing of Jim West for his re-election attempt!

Anonymous said...

Never puts ANYONE DOWN.

Unless you are a "do-nothing" or "anti-everything."

However, according to Hughes:

"I think we answered all your questions..."

...if you are Thom Hammond at least.

But, per-chance, if you are John Zeiden, who shares the vision of Brett Fehrman, in having the rest of us subsidize his income, there are no questions Jeff is not willing to entertain, "on record."

Anonymous said...

We need more folks like Rick Fox and Jeff Hughes...

...out of politics...

...and unlike Vera Benning...

...not into taxpayer dollar paid patronage jobs...

...may Rick, Jeff and Vera find lucrative jobs in the Tupperware Party Industry.

Anonymous said...

"Tupperware Party Industry"

B-U-R-P

Anonymous said...

"B-U-R-P" ???

You are so behind the times, the "burp" has now been politically corrected into the Tupperware:

W-H-I-S-P-E-R

Anonymous said...

Jeff has always been there for the person who wants to talk about how they feel and what can be done as far as solutions.

Like Oprah!

But in the end, like Oprah, Jeff will still vote for Obama before he votes for anyone not willing to walk in lock step with his development masters!

Anonymous said...

HI. I AM JEFF HUGHES. I RESPECT YOU THE VOTER. UNLESS YOU DO NOT RESPECT THE DCEDI. VOTE THE PROPER WAY. THE DCEDI WAY. OR THE DCEDI WILL THROW ME TO THE CURB. DO NOT FORCE ME TO DISREPECT YOU FOR NOT DOING THE RIGHT THING. THE RIGHT DCEDI THING.

Anonymous said...

Jeff Hughes feels for you all, but his hands have already been tied.

Anonymous said...

"Jeff has always been there for the person who wants to talk..."

As long as such person who wants to talk gets on the agenda and gives Jeff plenty of time to consult with Bob Ewbank to insure someone else is given a "head's up" to also get on the agenda just in case the first person who wants to talk does not fit the "real" agenda of Bob Ewbank's clients...

Anonymous said...

Are you also trying to put Tupperware down or what is your Beeeef?

Still concerned with Vera ??????

Anonymous said...

Is the taxpayer still shedding off dollars to employ Vera?

Anonymous said...

Taxes can't be lowered until spending is brought into check. That includes political patronage jobs from sewer secretary to county administrator.

Anonymous said...

Forcing someone to pay tens of thousands of dollars for a sewer system they do not need is also a "tax."

A "tax" for the benefit of financing the wellbeing of a few politically connected development welfare slugs.

I don’t personally know Jeff Hughes. But I do know someone who has worked closely with him over the years. I respect this person judgment and in their opinion Jeff is a good person at heart. The problem is he’s a follower and not a leader. Unfortunately for us his current mentors have no morals. We need a person that listens to the people of the county and acts in their favor, not just a “connected’ few

Jeff Hughes sold me some Tupperware and then charged me extra for the lids.
