ST LEON LETTER TO COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

TOWN OF ST LEON

Phone: (812) 637-2530

January 14,2008

Dearborn County Commissioners
215B West High St.
Lawrenceburg, IN 47025

Attn: Bryan Messmore County Administrator

Re: St. Leon WWTP Expansion

Gentlemen:

As you are aware, the Town of St. Leon is currently preparing to initiate construction of an expansion of its Wastewater Treatment Plant. This expansion will provide for future anticipated growth within the Town as well as allow the Town to support Economic Development in Dearborn County, specifically within the West Harrison and St. Leon TIF Districts.

For example, the Town is currently in receipt of a request from DCEDI to commit to provide sewer service to the Stone Trust Property within the West Harrison TIF District. Sewer service must be available to secure the classification of "shovel ready". The Town is unable to make that commitment unless and until the WWTP expansion is financed and under construction.

The most cost-effective financing for the project is the Lawrenceburg Public Entity Loan Fund, which the Town is now pursuing.

The support of the Dearborn County Commissioners recognizing the Economic Development benefits of this improvement is very desirable and we hereby request a letter documenting this support. The favorable financing terms provided by Lawrenceburg would also allow potential cost reductions to TIF District users.

Finally, it should be noted that the proposed WWTP expansion to secure Economic Development needs in the Northwest Quadrant of Dearborn County is consistent with the "Woolpert Study."

Your support is appreciated and would provide the most timely method of enhancing Economic Development of the TIF Districts.

Since time is of the essence, we would appreciate your letter of support at the earliest possible date,

Please do not hesitate to call with questions.
Sincerely,

Town of St, Leon

Lawrenceburg Council already said they do not want to get in the middle of the St. Leon sewer mess.

Sorry St. Leon, but sometimes bad things happen to bad people...

Maybe you could bring to next Council meeting all the residents who would have connected up to your sewers even without your always impending threat to sue them.

They should all comfortable fit in a Ford Escort.

And how apropos that will be in that you have the Ford Escort of sewers in this County, as compared to the Cadillac of sewers offered by the SDRSD.

Anonymous said...

Watson, St. Leon and the DCRSD just love motivating the political forces that are going to vote out all the sewer crook enablers. May they keep up the good work.

Anonymous said...

To all those people who are talking and trashing others.. How about using your time and energy in a positive way. Instead of talking about others, why don't you talk about ways to improve Dearborn County. Isn't that what the purpose of this page is anyhow?

How about you do something that the county can benefit from.

Anonymous said...

What makes you think we are not working to better this county?

For an example of a "something" that was tried was a lot of folks got together with the comp plan to map out a course for development of this county.

What did development forces do with such plan?

They ordered their flunkies to sit on it.

Growing out from existing infrastructure, in a manner that does not place an undue burden on the taxpayer and those living around proposed development is another "something" that has been put forward by posters on this blog.

Yet that also falls on deaf ears of developer interests who feel entitled to have no restrictions placed on them.

We had to fight our own party to even get a representative in the "something" discussion, remember that dear?

You discount all effort that is not 100% pro-development at any and all costs to the taxpayer.

Anonymous said...

"We had to fight our own party to even get a representative in the "something" discussion, remember that dear?"

And they try to claim we are against compromise. Even with maintaining the majority they did not want to give us a voice in the process. They have proven time and again that they want absolute power when it comes to the direction and flow of development in this County. All their talk is empty talk when it comes to their willingness to compromise.

St. Leon, if Watson has his way, will be one major power outage away from a public heath catastrophe.

What are St. Leon’s contingency plans for such an occurrence?

Or are they just hoping that the development instigators of these piss-poor sewers will be safely down at their resort condos in Florida before the backed up shit literally starts hitting the ceiling fans of St. Leon residents?

Anonymous said...

it would seem that St. Leon would benefit from any development added to their sewer plant.
how much PROFIT does that plant make?
how much do the sewer operators make?
this must be a lucrative enterprise or else they wouldn't want to expand for the county's needs- out of the goodness of their hearts.

Anonymous said...

What St. Leon needs to do is to force more folks without the right of representation onto their sewers to pay for the development of few politically connected developers.

Yeah! That's the ticket!

Anonymous said...

'Finally, it should be noted that the proposed WWTP expansion to secure Economic Development needs in the Northwest Quadrant of Dearborn County is consistent with the "Woolpert Study."'

Guess the Northwest Quadrant is still in the plans for development!! When does 'NO' mean no to the developers and sewer mongers in the County.

I guess there is too much money to be made ripping off the farmers and land owners!

Anonymous said...

Now that those actually holding title to the land up in the NW Quad are aware of the value of the land, there will be little interest by the same ole, same ole development interests in negotiating with informed sellers.

The NW Quad was all about keeping the landowners in the dark in order for our politically connected development interests in this County to buy up their land for a song then on to make windfall profits.

These crooks were planning on using inside information, of what should have been public information, but our public officials were all in the pocket of development interests, to cheat the landowners of the Quad.

Remember folks, last primary that republicans Rick Fox and Jeff Hughes sold out the republican primary voters to the highest development bidder.

The primary voter is only of value to them if they can be herded to their development masters.

Vote for true representatives of the people this year.

Watch for the dirtiest of nasty political low down tricks from our desperate development owned republican leadership this year.

Let us all show these Country Club RINO bastards what true conservatism is all about!

Throw out their bought and paid for political scoundrels!

Anonymous said...

All campaign contributions should be given directly to the candidates and not channeled through the party. The party leadership has proven to be corrupt and in the pocket of developers.

This sad chapter in dearborn county politics cannot end soon enough for me.

The political process has been hijacked by self-serving development proponents with little or no interest for the average man and woman in this county.

We need a political shakeup from the top down.

Anonymous said...

And all the same people are going to show up at the Lawrenceburg Council meeting and the Mayor and the Council members will tell Watson and St. Leon the same thing.

Maybe Watson and St. Leon can also try to sue Lawrenceburg into compliance with their demands.

That is their idea of "representative" government after all.

To "represent" only the wishes of politically connected development interests and to sue anyone in their development constituents' way.

Anonymous said...

And what did Rick Fox and Jeff Hughes do when they finally had the chance to hold St. Leon's feet to the fire and truly show that they both walk the walk and not just talk the talk when it comes to forced hook-ups?

Well they did what their development bosses already decided they should do.

They gave St. Leon their blessing to try to get more money from Lawrenceburg.

When these two political clowns in the primary try to claim they are on record against forced hook-ups, please show them for the liars that they are and show the primary voters their actual record.

Maybe Ewbank will advise them anything they say in the primary may be used against them and forbid their actual campaigning?

Anonymous said...

I'm sure when Mayor Cunningham and the Council find out that two intellectual powerhouse politicos such as Jeff Hughes and Rick Fox gave their OK, they will jump at the idea of throwing money away on St. Leon sewers! What alternative universe is Watson and St. Leon living in? Enough already. We are fed up with St. Leon's bullying of our neighbors to line the pockets of a few realtors, developers and their enablers' pockets. Get that through your thick skulls you thugs!

Anonymous said...

Watson:

Finally, it should be noted that the proposed WWTP expansion to secure Economic Development needs in the Northwest Quadrant of Dearborn County is consistent with the "Woolpert Study."

Let me guess, if the "Woolpert Study" suggested it was downright criminal to force poor and non-politically connected folks to subsidize such sewers that Watson would curse their name?

Welcome to Dearborn County: Where the highest bidder determinds what is "needed" for our County!!!

I wonder what "surprises" the DCRSD has in store for us as I also wonder how Fox and Hughes will trip and stumble over each other making way for whatever the DCRSD wants, no matter the costs to the rest of us?

I'm sure we are all in agreement, forced hookups and/or avalibity fees to finance the development of this County's chosen few will not prompt Rick and Jeff to rise above Ewbank's shoe bottoms to protest such.

Anonymous said...

Maybe at the dcedi's next meeting, John Zeiden could give the "State of the Sewers" address?

Afterwards, the entire dcedi crew could go slime surfing on Hogan's Creek just down the hill from High Ridge Estates, finishing up the evening at Dennerline's trailer park to admire all what the taxpayers had provided him in way of sewer improvements and other like expenditures related to his financial wellbeing.

Next meeting: John Maxwell will provide the dcedi crew a tour of St. Leon and what he too would like the taxpayers to provide him personally in sewer improvements and other items that may provide for his personal financial comfort.

Sadly, Brett Fehrman has been placed last on the list to provide his tour and his related taxpayer wish list.

I attended the meeting when john zeidan spoke to the commtioners his messgge was clear titeled "Dearborn County Moving Forward" I never heard him mention anything about his bussiness or personal interest he did say he is all for development and new growth for dearborn county which is not possible without sewage so our kids have jobs here where they were raised istead of them going to cincinnati or ky to find jobs.

Anonymous said...

This is an ASAP question, this was taco night at the old homestead!

So very sorry, can’t help you with your grinder pump issues, but I will persist in keeping an eye out for Doug Baer if you should so wish to do your most private “business” in your back yard or victory garden.

We would ever not want nor desire Mr. Baer catching “wind” of what you may be doing in the mist of your most spirited physical functions, Mr. Baer citing you and condemning your property to be later, by operation of the many decrees of this County, deeded later over to Mr. Maxwell by Mr. Baer, now would we?

Anonymous said...

I never heard him mention anything about his bussiness or personal interest

His personal business interests were why he was there.

Look to the record.

Further, forcing the rest of us into tens of thousands of dollars of debt to finance some amorphous and artificial delineation of growth for the benefit of so few is both insane and unproductive to the welfare of this county as a whole.

“Growth,” however you define it, will come, but not by bullying and lawsuits to provide it at the pace of those who demand immediate gratification for their investment in their political handmaidens and cheap and easy political dates.

Anonymous said...

Our kids will not have jobs unless we connect up to sewers that do not work when the power goes out and such sewers' capacity will be used up by a few politically connected realtor/developers for their residential development? What, are kids are destined to be house servants for all these new homes in all these new proposed subdivisions? Sadly, you and I know whose interests you are looking out for and it is not our childrens' interests!

Mr. Zeiden purchased land for his business at non-sewered prices, now he wants the rest of us to subsidize his sewers to increase his overall profits (he finds the "pump and haul" aspects of being on a septic/holding tank not conducive with maximizing his profits, so he looks to the rest of us to make up for his supposed shortfalls).

Sorry, we are not buying what Mr. Zeiden is selling.

Unless Mr. Zeiden wants to chip in and make up for my personal misgivings of paying for minced Cod patties and a paper cup full of MD 20/20 when I think I really deserved lobster and a fine white wine.

Anonymous said...

That John Zeiden...always looking out for the rest of us! Let him show how much he cares to his neighbors; without forgetting to mention the full cost of these sewers, monthly fees, grinder pump(s) cost, maintence and replacement costs of same grinder pumps, excavation costs, electrical service and monthly costs of electrical rates and the cost of motel rooms when the power fails and you cannot flush your toilets.

Let Johh Zeiden sing all the praises of these wonderful sewers to his neighbors.

Anonymous said...

john zeidan is a father of 3 beautiful college graduates kids ,and one Honor high school student, involved in church a well respected indivisual and i can't imagine what these wieners have against him!!! I have known him for over 17 years and he never wished anything bad on anybody or talk bad about any one behind thier back!!!

Anonymous said...

zeiden, like fehrman, like maxwell like one of the primordial instigators of the dcedi mess, benning, only care about maximizing their respective incomes at the rest of our friends and neighbors' expense, though i blame lehner more than benning for what benning did because benning is just such a pitiful creature and easily led by a few kind and smart words and lehner took advantage of benning's weak nature to the very limits of human kindness

Anonymous said...

Zeiden is a peach!!!

Let Zeiden make do with what he paid for, a transaction he entered into with both eyes open!!!

But let us not raid the savings of Zeiden's neighbors to improve Zeiden's lot!!!

Because I am sure Zeiden's neighbors' families are equally as admirable as Zeiden!!!

Or are his neighbors' interests less important than Zeiden???

In that their interests do not align with the interests of the board members of the DCRSD!!!

Anonymous said...

I have talked to john zeidan before and from what I understand he is not for forced hookups for good working systems but those who are having non working systems and dumping thier sewage on thier neighbers yard or in the creeks and palouting the inviorment its going to cost them less to hook up than to replace the non functional system.

Anonymous said...

As High Ridge Estates continues to dump raw sewage into Hogan's Creek...

...you all remember...

...the reason the dcrsd was formed...

Anonymous said...

John Zeiden should be complaining of the sewage flowing into our waterways because of the DCRSD not doing their assigned duty and fixing high ridge.

Apart from all that, John wants sewers to his business to reduce his costs of doing business and possibly developing some land he owns around his home.

So, please stop all the nonsense that John wants to save our environment!

Vera, is that you throwing out all this nonsense?

Anonymous said...

its going to cost them less to hook up than to replace the non functional system.

Please provide us all with the life-long costs of pressurized sewers and generators if we should wish to flush our commodes during an electrical outage?

Please factor into such costs the ever-increasing costs of updating such sewers as politically connected consistently place such systems at over-capacity to meet their development and financial needs.

Iam one of john zeidan neighbours and when john bought this property about 10 years ago it was junk yard!!!and look what he turned it to now!!!! besides no one handed him anything on silver plater what he has he worked very hard for!if you use your energy towrd something positive you all would get somewhere too!!! I think its all jeoulesy Thats All!!!

Anonymous said...

Someone, please tell one of Zeiden's neighbors how cost effective these sewers are considering they would cost him about $35,000.00 to just hook on to such sewers due to the topography of his land...

Anonymous said...

Iam one of john zeidan neighbours and when john bought this property about 10 years ago it was junk yard!!!

Have you seen what I have done with my property?

Maybe you should get on my bandwagon and force my neighbors to subsidize sewers to my property also?

Anonymous said...

John Zeiden could afford to do alot with his property, look what he saved as compared to the costs of sewer serviced property.

I could put all my grandkids through college with such savings.

Anonymous said...

Now we to give Zeiden our savings because he improved his property? I guess I should have documented and filmed all what I have done with my property. How else will I be able to prove that the folks down the road owe me sewers!

Anonymous said...

Praise to John Zeiden!!!

The Lords of the DCRSD, please send me a self-addressed envelope so I can donate to the John Zeiden Memorial Sewer Fund!!!

But just in case we don't get sewers out into Zeiden's and my neck of the woods anytime soon, could you send Doug Baer out to Zeiden's house, I think his septic system may be failing!!!

Let me know when you plan to inspect Zeiden's septic system, I will be out there with the local papers and WCPO in tow!!!

Anonymous said...

I think its all jeoulesy Thats All!!!

Maybe John Zeiden is somehow green with envy that our ample savings are not being tapped to provide him with a little extra income?

I forgive his trespasses!

Anonymous said...

Everyone, look up and down the road that you live. Have you done more or less with your property than the people who live on your road? Do the people living on your road that have done less than you with their property owe you anything? Do you owe the people that have done more with their property than you?

Apparently, someone here believes we "owe" John Zeiden sewers merely because he improved HIS land.

Look out through your kitchen windows and tally up what others owe YOU for improving your land.

Submit your tallies to the dcrsd.

Anonymous said...

Looks like Vera Benning is trying to restore her forever squandered political heydays one Zeiden and Gabbard Estates at a time.

May we all be present when she is knocking on doors of High Ridge residents begging for their votes.

Flush...flush (stupid low flow and volume toilets) down Hogan's Creek with her political revival chances.

Anonymous said...

please would anyone show me where Mr Zeidan asked any of you for help or money!!! his bussines is runinng fine without sewage the way it is!!!
and thanks alot for asking but his septic system is working just fine!!!! and he is willing to hook to the sewage line because he is all about the people that are stuck with thier homes they can't sell them or do anything, bc of the problem they have like high ridge if you were in these people shoes you won't be against sewage!!! arent you the same people that complain about high taxes ? and against development!!!

Anonymous said...

he is all about the people that are stuck with thier homes they can't sell them or do anything, bc of the problem they have like high ridge

Again, John Zeiden is a prince among men.

With Zeiden's most evident altruistic inate virtues, he should not need the rest of us to subsidize any sewers to his business.

Problem solved.

Now, on to other business, when is the DCRSD ever going to stem the flow of raw sewage flowing into Hogan's Creek from High Ridge?

That is why they were formed, was it not?

Could it be the DCRSD's Board and their political enablers had other motives in rushing into existence the very existence of the DCRSD?

Maybe we should have some sort of voter referendum concerning the DCRSD?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Anonymous said...

i have friends that live in the sw part of the county, along with agreeing that zeiden is a great guy who looks out for everyone else before himself, the farmers down their in the sw corner of the county really love vera benning. Love her to pieces.

Anonymous said...

I agree with Mr. Zeiden.

We need to look out for the welfare of High Ridge Estates.

Just think about it, High Ridge would have been fixed already but for all the greedy "hangers on" trying to somehow get their properties sewered along with the High Ridge fix.

Look where we stand today.

The DCRSD has been formed how many years now?

And still High Ridge is polluting our waterways.

Maybe the State Attorney General should look into this mess?

What do you all think?

Anonymous said...

"Maybe the State Attorney General should look into this mess?"

I think we should try to get Mr. Zeiden to be our point man with the attorney general to finally work in earnest in fixing the corruption with our newly and deceptively formed development driven sewer districts in our beloved County!

Please, please, please...Mr. Zeiden, take on the mantle of County Reformer and lead us out of this ethical sewer morass!

Anonymous said...

Because high ridge estates leans down the hill toward hogans, pressurized sewers, that would work with gabbard estates and zeiden's property would not be economically feasible with the dollars already allotted to fixing high ridge.

What to do.

What to do.

Maybe Rodney Dennerline is right.

High Ridge does not have any options available.

That is if gabbard estates and zeiden's property is to be sewered also.

What to do.

You need to check the Board of Health meeting notes!! You will find the truth.

John proceeded without a permit to install tanks not approved by the State and when caught, even though the B of H tried to help him, all they could do for him is give him a pump and haul permit, which by the way is very expensive! He cannot solve his problems or expand his business without great expense, unless he can get DCRSD to force his neighbors to help him!

So much for his community spirit!

Also, who wants a West Chester out in western Dearborn County?

It just goes to show you, maybe Bob Ewbank is not such a bad sort of bloke after all. You all, quit picking on narcissists such as Maxwell and his adoring twins Watson and Ewbank.

Narcissists often find it impossible to have normal relationships with everyday honest people, especially with those to whom they supposedly profess to be looking out for their best interests. So often these types of narcissists participate in illicit political activities that countermand the very virtues they publicly and outwardly express. They NEED the rush that comes from such illicit activities.

Or so I am told.

NOTICE, THERE IS NOT ONE MENTION OF PUBLIC HEALTH ISSUES IN MR. WATSON'S LETTER, BUT MANY REFERENCES TO THE ECONOMIC IMPACT OF ST. LEON SEWERS.

ASK YOURSELVES, WHO WILL BE POSITIVELY FINANCIALLY IMPACTED BY SUCH SEWERS?

NOT THOSE WHO HAVE TO TAKE OUT LOANS TO HOOK ON TO SUCH SEWERS...

...THAT IS FOR SURE.

Anonymous said...

Who has been "positively" impacted in their pocketbooks since high ridge estates was used to get control of a sewer district? Rumor has it that sewage is still draining down to hogans. So I would guess it is not the residents of high ridge enjoying any windfall. To date all the energy of the dcrsd has been focused on impacting the pocketbooks of its board members. Profitable position if you can be appointed to the dcrsd board, I reckon. This is the corrupt county fix we find ourselves in. Maybe a few elections will somehow impact the rest of us a bit better.

This concept that everything is about development should end.
And the pouring of Argosy dollars into the operational budget of the county (translation the COURTHOUSE AND JAIL)should end also. Keep the promises to the people that this would be spent on roads and one time expenses such as capital projects.
Government should do it's job- and infrastructure - particularly roads- is it's job.
Why is it on the bottom of the list now?
Who ruined that flow of money?

Expecting individual homeowners, whose only crime is having the misfortune of living near someone's proposed development, to have to go into great dept to subsidize such growth, is not the way to go.

Zeiden's problem is self-imposed, either through ignorance or by trying to play fast and lose with the sewage rules in this county.

Perhaps you are too harsh on Mr. Z.
Could it be that he is being manipulated by pro sewer forces?
Is the Health Dept. telling him that he has to be on a sewer or are they scaring him by saying- sewer is coming and if you invest in another type system the money will be wasted as we will force you on to the sewer?
He's in business- he has to make decisions and there has been a 3 year hiatus on this sewer line for west Aurora.
If the forced hook-ups were not in play- he might be able to fix his own problem.
If the DCRSD hadn't started out promising grants and freebies to everyone I wonder if they would have gotten as many to sign up. After they sign up- the rug gets pulled out from under them as DCRSD draws bigger territorial lines and suddenly there is too much income in the area to qualify for the grant. No more freebies.
Maybe these people were played for fools in someone's bigger plans.
Maybe we should step back and ask ourselves- DOES IT MAKE SENSE TO HAVE A GRAVITY SEWER LINE ALONG US 50 in the long term?
The answer to that is -yes.
So build it right the first time. And don't dump it to Aurora until they can SAFELY handle the inflow.

Will he answer them?

Not and interest of developer driven sewer districts.

Look how developers were doing their best to hook on to HVL's sewers when it was common knowledge that its sewer infrastructure was in a crumbling state and was consistently dumping raw sewage into Double Lick Creek.

To all the whiners, who's heads are filled with sewage..I would like to once again clarify my position on this issue. So here is the truth. Some of you may not like what i have to say, but sometimes the truth hurts.
First, I am against forced hook-ups. Except if the system is not working, and you are polluting the water, your neighbors yard, the environment, poor health, etc. If the following applies, then i think hook-ups should be made.
Anyways, in these types of situations, hook-ups would be cheaper than having to replace the entire system. Seeing the difference is easy.
Second, thanks but no thanks to those who are concerned about the sewage system of my business. My system, which is a pump and hole system keeps the environment clean.
So to those who are against forced hook-ups, how about trying a pump and hole system??
My agenda is very very clear. I have repeated it many of times. "Dearborn County Moving Forward". What does this mean?
It means that we need to develop our county.
Encourage growth and new businesses, in order to lower our taxes. (Which is an ongoing problem)
It is also to encourage a brighter future for our children, grandchildren, families, and schools.
However all of the concerns above will not come without sewage and utilities.

So now you know the truth. I hope I have cleared up any miss confusion I may have presented upon you.

If any of you have any comments or concerns about these issues, please feel free to contact me. Also if you have a better plan for Dearborn County, and you can convince me, I just might become one of you.

Anonymous said...

First, I am against forced hook-ups. Except if the system is not working, and you are polluting the water, your neighbors yard, the environment, poor health, etc.

And who determines if our septic systems are a threat to our waterways, etc?

The same forces that have turned the other way as HVL and High Ridge dumped their sewage into our waterways because they did not want to put any pressure on development interests to do "something" ahead of their plans to line their own pockets?

Or those who have somehow determined not to send a forced hook-up letter to John Maxwell in St. Leon?

John, you seem like a pleasant fellow. But what possessed you to "grow" your business without regard to our sewage rules in this county?

John, I hope, for your sake, you are merely being played and not trying to play the rest of us.

Regards.

Anonymous said...

My system, which is a pump and hole system keeps the environment clean.

So, your pump and haul system is something you planned and integrated into your business plan from the very beginning for your Reception Hall?

Or did forces outside your original plans oblige you into your pump and haul strategy?

If you did not envision pump and haul in your original business model, what circumstances later led you to believe that the pump and haul paradigm would best fit your commercial model for your business?

Anonymous said...

The County needs to make long term plans for real (gravity) sewers not these make-shift, expensive to the customer pressurized sewers that do not function when the power goes out.

Simply because a handful of conflicted realtor/developers and businessmen want sewers now so they can build dense subdivisions far from existing infrastructure is not reason enough to force these "cheap" sewers on the rest of us.

And let us see a raise of hands of those who trust Doug Baer to objectively rate our septic systems as "functional" when he is doing the dirty work of Maxwell and Company to force the rest of us to subsidize their push for growth in rural areas?

Anonymous said...

What has Doug Baer done to stem the flow of High Ridge's raw sewage into Hogan's Creek? He has sat back and let development interests on the dcrsd hold the High Ridge fix hostage until these development interests get their demanded terms that best fits their personal profit desires. Doug Baer cannot be trusted.

Anonymous said...

Dissolve the dcrsd ASAP.
Let development near the existing sewer systems drive development, not "way out" spot development drive the infrastructure. If the developers/bankers/lawyers want "way out", unconnected, development let THEM find a way to pay for good gravity sewers. The taxpayers of Dearborn Co. WILL NOT pay the price for their need of sewers at the distant areas. Dearborn County has other more important projects to utilize their TAX dollars ,roads and bridges for two examples.

Dissolve the dcrsd NOW!

Anonymous said...

The DCRSD will continue to push for sewers out to their board members and buddies' next farm purchase.

That is what the DCRSD is about and why it was formed.

Anonymous said...

Mr. Zeidan. Thank you for setting the record straight. You are completely right that this county has to develop areas that should be developed; however, you are a complete moron to think I should make my neighbors pay for a sewage line so your business increases in land value and makes developers hungry to put empty strip plazas next to my land. You are a fool to think others should pay for your development schemes. Sell out and just go away. Your pole barn building is pathetic. Have you seen nice reception halls? Go buy one and run your business the right way. Requesting taxpayers to fund your operation and develop land around them because you personally want it is not a good reason for this county to spend money. Please just go away. Knock down your building like Dr. Rahe and go away.

Anonymous said...

It is clear that the majority in this county do not want what the dcrsd is trying to shove down their throats. But you will not see Jeff Hughes phone surveying the "silenced" majority to document their feelings. Jeff is nothing but a tool who will be cast aside by those he has been brown nosing once he and Rick Fox lose their reelection.

Anonymous said...

The DCRSD could not and cannot be justified to the citizen-taxpayers of this County because at its very inception it was corrupt down to its very roots. That is why it took a couple of title attorneys who had much to gain by forcing development in rural areas to rush the implementation of the DCRSD into existence, walking their uneducated and dimwitted political lackeys completely through the entire process of creating a sham of a sewer district.

The question was asked earlier concerning why Mr. Zeiden "chose" a pump and haul system that "keeps the environment clean?"

Was the "pump and haul" system truly of his own choosing or was he forced or coerced by the Health Dept. to make such a decision?

And if he was forced into such a decision, what are the underlying reasons for the Health Dept. forcing him to so?

Any answers floating around out there to such questions?

Anonymous said...

I was thinking the same thing as to the health department notes concerning john zeiden and his pump and haul needs. Is there a website available to download such notes? John Zeidan, I and many others in our county take offense to your statement "Dearborn County Moving Forward" means "developing our county" and that this is "a brighter future for our children and families". You and a few others are the minority in this county that want to destroy what is good about this county for you own personal gains. The magority of residence enjoy our way of life and don't intend to prostitute our communities for personal gain. My family, friends and neighbors here in Northern Dearborn County are tired of fighting the continuous attack by your kind, but care about our rural community so much that we will never stop fighting. The only way for us to gain from the DCEDI "Grand Plan" is to sell our land and homes and move away. Sorry, we truely care about Deaborn County and are here to stay.
Agriculture is a vital part of the future of the US, to provide food
, fiber and now fuel. Why isn't
isn't DCEDI and the Chamber of Commerce "developing" ideas in that industry.
John, ask around and see why people live here. This is also the reason some bloggers are so angry. They care about living here in rural Dearborn County, not selling it out.
And Bloggers lets spend some space talking about what is good about Dearborn County and why we want to live here and what we what to see in the future. Thank for you time.

I love the his county and its rural setting. It is why I live here. I do not long to live in West Chester or Colerain Township. I do not see my nor my children’s' wellbeing being inextricably linked to bulldozing our countryside to promote more generic and aesthetically bland housing and strip malls.

There is no shortage of such development within a twenty or thirty mile driving distance from our rural environment.

This County is not crying out for such development, only a few realtors, developers and their associates desire such for a cheap and fast profit.

Listen to the true vocal majority, not the manufactured, faceless and non-existent majority that Jeff Hughes and Rick Fox pretend they are representing.

Mark Hall speaks for more good and honest folks in this County than all the development shills combined.

Mark Hall, because he does not grovel or cringe at the feet of Maxwell and his accomplices is "anti-everything" and a "do-nothing" simply because he is rightfully emotionally and sentimentally attached to his home and property.

Remove the greedy from their position of political power and let them compete and vie one on one with those they would like too bully into submission to reach the level of “growth” that brings them the greatest amount of riches for the least amount of effort, intelligence or competence required.

Once faced with any obstacle greater than the phony and empty pleadings of Fox and Hughes “to not force your will on powerless citizens of this County, if at all possible, as long as it does not interfere whatsoever with your profit margins,” then watch them all slither back leaving their trail of roach laden debris behind in their path to their most foul nether regions wherever roaches go to climb upon each other in a DCEDI tumult.

Not willing to follow every memo sent down from Lehner or Ewbank?

Not willing to bend to the greater interests of Dearborn County's finest: John Maxwell?

Rick Fox and Jeff Hughes are the only candidates to be counted upon to meet all the needs of Lehner, Ewbank and the omnipresent John Maxwell!

FURTHER IF ALL RURAL AREAS WERE SERVIVED BY PRESSURIZED SEWERS AND GRINDER PUMPS, HONDA WOULD HAVE MINI-PLANTS ALL OVER THE STATE OF INDIANA.

BY THE WAY, WHERE IS JIM WEST, I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO SEE THAT LIST OF ALL THOSE SECONDARY SUPPLIERS HE SAID THAT WE AT HONDA HAD PLANNED FOR THE I-74 CORRIDOR OF DEARBORN COUNTY?"

As it stands today those pushing for heavy development in this County because of their conflicts of interests and drive to keep the majority of profits for themselves have proven to be the "Gang That Can Not Shoot Straight" as to development matters of this County!

Let us not forget who started the St.Leon sewer crisis, The great Ted Stenger.

Shut down the sewer scammers of St. Leon!!!

Make Maxwell, his friends and a handful of lawyer creeps get second jobs!!!

It is not our place to see them through their cyclical "BAD TIMES!!!"

Notice how the funds for St. Leon and the DCRSD are drying up? Sucks to have an informed electorate and an honest sub-set of politicians. Must have really sucked to have to rely on such dingleberrys as Benning, Fox and Hughes to do your flunky heavy-lifting. Anyone know how Chuck Andres is doing "promoting" development in this County with his high-end priced sewered land paid for by his neighbors? Is he truly working for the betterment of this County, or is he just doing his best to get the best deal possible, subsidized by the rest of us, to garner more dollars into his savings account? Is he anti-everything and a do-nothing as he trys to prosper himself solely at the cost of development interests in this County?

The first real act of the new Republican Local Party Chairman (Morris) should be to fire and/or not endorse any Republican involved in the Newspaper Ad/Flyer that had "Support These Candidates" which listed all Republicans and the Development endorsed Democrat listed there upon, without any listing of the Republican Nonimee, Ralph Thompson, who just happened to be against forced hookups...

"The first real act of the new Republican Local Party Chairman (Morris)..."

Should be to point out the lies of Ewbank, Fox and Hughes when they say they are against forced hook ups with those with "functioning" septic systems, when they know full well that Doug Baer is willing and able to condemn any septic system for any reason no matter how small the infraction.

The same Doug Baer who has sat idly by as the VRUC and the DCRSD has allowed raw sewage to flow into our waterways as their boards devised ways to have development interests take control of such sewer concerns to meet their development demands.

How about the republican primary voter refuse to ever support any republican listed on that flyer until someone on that list comes forward as to who was the "brain child" of such idea?

As a few crooked politically connected realtor/developers lose hope of forcing the rest of us to finance, underwrite and insure their development, Rick Fox and Jeff Hughes have begun to sport t-shirts with this slogan written on them:

"KEEP HOPE ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!"

Vote for jeff hughes and rick fox. Please do not leave maxwell and ewbank at the mercy of those voters who believe that all residents of this county should have equal rights and equal say in this county.

"that all residents of this county should have equal rights and equal say in this county."

Like all those poor slobs that thought their voice mattered with their participation in the Comp. Plan and surveys for such Plan only to be told their efforts meant nothing because their efforts did not ratify what a few dishonest development interests wanted therefore Jeff Hughes and Rick Fox negated such efforts?

Take out the guys who nullified the people's voices.
Vote some new ones in.

Developer driven St. Leon and the DCRSD if left to their own devices would have over half this County on pressurized sewers that do not function when the power fails, setting up this County for a major health disaster if we ever have a widespread power failure. What are the contingency plans for such a disaster? Why do not St. Leon, the DCRSD and their enablers such as Fox, Hughes, Fehrman, Barrott and Morris never address these contingency plans?

If only Rick Fox and Jeff Hughes had someone like Bill Clinton out there to campaign for them...to "press the flesh" so to speak:

Look at the Comprehensive Plan, it had no teeth, no real legal limitations, it was just a "go-by," yet Hughes and Fox's superiors ordered them to not even agree to that!

This is how anal and control crazy a few certain development interests are in this county!

Now that the voters are waking up, expect these folks therapy session bills to increase dramatically!

Anonymous said...

Yep, developers and their minions in this county's idea of "compromise" is to not even give an inch concerning inconsequental matters. We are dealing with bullies, plain and simple. Vote their peons out of office. Watch the bullies wither and die.

I, for one, am sort of going to miss our County ham-fisted, tard bullies!

Imagine a County with only Grey, no authentic black and white, easy to recognize, thieves in waiting!

Imagine a County with actual "smart" crooks?

Imagine the efforts that would be needed to stop them in their crooked tracks?

Give me a crooked and stupid republican leadership...everytime!

They permit the honest folks to just sit back and permit the rest of our honest citizens to take in the magnatude of their dishonesty.!

No effort on our parts!

"Give me a crooked and stupid republican leadership...every time!"

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just think of the gifts and reprieves our mendacious indigenous development low-life delinquents have offered us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Envision the battle it would have taken to make things right if they were more chameleon in their labors to subvert our savings for their personal gluttonous desires!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Make thanks that our local development interests are dumber than a box of rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess that makes Rick and Jeff dumber than a box of rocks' droppings?

Poor Mr. Maxwell and Mr. Ewbank...watching the rest of us squander their resources...resources that we presently own...outright...someone please...step in...save us from using our resources...that could be better served by Mr. Maxwell and Mr. Ewbank...they have such big plans for OUR resourses...and they have proven...by their actions...to be so much smarter than us...all...

Anonymous said...

Who is Ewbank and Maxwell and who ever gave them the idea they had more say so in this county than the rest of us? Should we blame them or their care-givers for raising two self-absorbed assholes?

I thought this blog was supposed to be family friendly? That is what Chris has asked! Would all the morons quite using the foul language? Is this request plain enough for the potty mouths?

Losers?

Let us see who the "losers" will be come this May primary!

Have a wonderful and delightful weekend!

Speaking of idiots, how are Jeff Hughes' phone calls coming? How are Rick Fox's stretch marks doing after all those times of Ewbank having his hand stuck up his bum as he works Rick's mouth?

And it is unreal...how our local sewer crooks' funding is drying up.
